| Name: | Lady Kate, Marchioness Schofield (nee Talgarth) |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 12-11 |
| Location: | Gloucestershire, United Kingdom |
It seems simply ages ago that I was just Kate Talgarth of Rushton, Essex (although specifically, it was only in August 1817 that things changed), and not Marchioness Schofield, wife of the Mysterious Marquis and former comrade-in-arms of the Duke of Wellington, Thomas Schofield. He's quite a capable practitioner of magic, as well. I suppose that being truly in love and conjoined with one's ideal spouse makes it seem as if you've always been together. And yet, I still feel that I am a relatively young wife, for all that marriage seems to agree with me.
I'm sure it wouldn't be quite as easy if Thomas were not as understanding about my faults as he is --I have always been irretrievably clumsy, and fear that no amount of deportment or dance lessons will be able to correct this failing. Perhaps on account of this tendancy, I have spates of being highly self-conscious and imagining that everything going awry is entirely my fault. It takes some jogging by Thomas or Cecy to get me out of this kind of funk, but fortunately these spells don't last terribly long. I also get extremely uncomfortable when required to play cards or participate in games of chance; but there are family reasons for this, and need not be dwelt upon at this time.
I also am truly blessed to have a dear best friend in my cousin Cecelia Tarleton (nee Rushton) and her husband James. Between the lot of us, we seem to attract all manner of trouble and adventure -- this would make things awful if anything truly tragic occured. But we seem to lead charmed lives in that somehow, by hook or by crook, we are able to put things right and live to fight another day. I have never been able to complain of boredom for very long.

OOC Information & Disclaimer: Kate and others mentioned above are characters in the Sorcery & Cecelia book series written by Patricia Wrede and Caroline Stevermer (Sorcery & Cecelia: The Enchanted Chocolate Pot, The Grand Tour and The Mislaid Magician or Ten Years After) and published by Harcourt, Inc. I am not any of these authors, nor am I making any gain from utilizing these characters in online games or writing exercises.
